Public Eye

Public Eye was founded in 1968 on the basis of the Bern Declaration manifesto. The association is currently supported by around 29,000 members. The tasks of the General Assembly and the Board of Directors are laid down in the organization’s statutes. Public Eye has two secretariats in Lausanne and Zurich, which jointly look after members and donations in Italian-speaking Switzerland.

We Move

Is an independent, citizens‘ movement with over 1 million members, campaigning for a better Europe that prioritizes people, nature, and social justice. It operates as a nonprofit promoting democracy and environmental action through online petitions, protests, and cross-border mobilization against corporate influence, climate change, and human rights abuses.

  • Mission: To build „people power“ to transform Europe to be more democratic, socially just, and environmentally sustainable.
  • Action Areas: Key campaigns include protecting the climate/nature, banning toxic chemicals (PFAS), supporting refugee rights, and promoting democratic participation, such as in the 2024 European elections.
  • Independence: WeMove Europe is funded through donations from citizens and grants, stating they do not accept funding from corporations or governments.
